At the beginning of the 20th century, Edward, a British colonial official, was sent to the Far East, where he took a train from Rangoon to Mandalay, waiting for his fiancée Molly to arrive by boat. When the steamship was about to dock, he lost his courage and jumped on a ship bound for Singapore. Even so, Edward's cowardly behavior did not deter Molly, but staged a journey of running and chasing, and also launched a series of explorations and pursuits in the unfamiliar Far East continent by crossing Siam, Saigon, Manila, Osaka, Shanghai, Chongqing, and Chengdu.
