Brief introduction:
The plot of the second season consists of two parallel stories, both written, directed and produced by Lodge Kerrigan and Amy Seimetz, with the participation of Jeff Cuban, Andrew Fierberg and Adele Romanski. Season 2 will focus on new characters, new relationships, new plots, and new locations, but the theme will not deviate from "the cost of intimacy and its emotional consequences." The story written by Lodge Kerrigan is set in Washington, D.C., and the story written by Amy Seimetz is set in New Mexico. Set against the backdrop of the 2018 US midterm elections, Kerrigan's story focuses on the impact of corrupt black political money – in American politics, everything can be done for money, and everyone can be bought for money, as long as you know exactly what their "pricing" is. Erica Myles (Anna Friel) is a Republican super PAC treasurer, strong-willed and aggressive. Anna Greenwald (Louisa Krause) is a bustard girl who is confident, intelligent, and a top personality in this line of work. The paths of the two of them are intertwined with unexpected stories, and their complex relationship will affect many people. When season two begins, Erica is under tremendous pressure to complete a fundraising plan for the Republican Super PAC, and after meeting Anna, the two decide to blackmail a high-powered fundraiser who owns black political money. Soon after, both men are caught in a complex sexual relationship and a black world of sexual abuse, with Erica's ex-girlfriend, a controlling woman, also involved. Personal emotional instability and the pressures of her career led Erica down a path she couldn't have imagined, and she felt like her life and work were going to get out of control. Seimetz's story features his girlfriend Bria Jones (Carmen Ejogo). When horrific information about one of her old clients came to light, she was forced to move to a remote New Mexico area. Still nostalgic for the thrill of risky sexual relationships and the luxury of high society, she once again engages in grotesque and intimate trade in the local area, trying to escape the poverty. When the dangers of the past come back to her, her new relationships with multiple men will redefine the profession of "girlfriend recruitment". The second season has a total of 14 episodes.
